Phoenix Distributing is pleased to welcome Dawn Lohr as Builder Partnerships Manager, a role focused on developing relationships with custom home builders and helping make residential fire sprinkler planning, design, and installation easier to incorporate into new home construction.
Based in the Charleston area, Dawn will work directly with custom home builders throughout the South Carolina Lowcountry, introducing Phoenix as a residential fire protection resource and helping builders better understand when and how fire sprinkler systems should be addressed during the construction process.
Building Relationships With Lowcountry Custom Home Builders
For Phoenix, Dawn’s role is about much more than traditional sales.
Custom home construction depends on strong relationships and effective coordination between builders, architects, designers, plumbers, specialty contractors, and other professionals. Residential fire protection is another part of that process, and addressing it early can make a meaningful difference as a project moves from plans to construction.
Dawn’s focus will be getting to know the builders working throughout the Lowcountry, learning about their businesses and projects, and making Phoenix available as a knowledgeable resource when residential fire sprinklers become part of the conversation.
Rather than waiting until a project is already underway, Phoenix wants to develop relationships with builders well before a sprinkler system is needed.
Making Residential Fire Sprinklers Easier for Builders
Residential fire sprinkler systems can involve a number of considerations, including architectural plans, ceiling configurations, water supply, plumbing, applicable requirements, construction schedules, and coordination with other trades.
Phoenix Distributing provides custom home builders with support that can include:
- Residential fire sprinkler planning and design
- Coordination with builders, plumbers, architects, designers, and other trades
- Material and system supply
- Professional residential fire sprinkler installation
- Testing, inspection preparation, and ongoing project support
Dawn will serve as an accessible point of contact for builders, helping connect their project teams with the appropriate Phoenix resources and keeping communication moving throughout the process.
Supporting Custom and Luxury Home Construction
The Lowcountry’s custom home market presents its own set of considerations. Luxury residences, waterfront homes, specialty ceilings, distinctive architectural details, premium finishes, and complex floor plans can all benefit from early fire sprinkler planning.
Phoenix’s goal is to work collaboratively with builders so residential fire protection becomes a coordinated component of the home rather than an issue that has to be solved later in construction.
That means getting involved early, reviewing the project, understanding the builder’s schedule and expectations, and coordinating with the professionals already involved.
A Resource for the Lowcountry Building Community
An important part of Dawn’s new position will simply be getting out into the building community.
She will be meeting builders, visiting offices and projects, attending industry events, and creating opportunities for Phoenix to share its residential fire sprinkler experience with construction professionals throughout the region.
Phoenix also sees education as an important part of these relationships. Builders should have a resource they can contact when questions arise about residential fire sprinkler design, installation, project coordination, or requirements affecting a particular home.
The objective isn’t to make residential fire protection more complicated. It’s to help builders navigate it more effectively.
